Located on the beautiful and historic campus of Urbana University in Urbana Ohio, The Johnny Appleseed Educational Center & Museum was founded in 1996, by members of the Urbana University faculty and staff. These founding members realized John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed, had been friends with the founders of the university and wanted to preserve the history of John Chapman.
The museum is one large room with interpretive texts and artifacts that celebrate the life of John Chapman known to generations of Americans as Johnny Appleseed.
The museum is open Tuesday from 10am – 12pm and Friday from 1pm – 3pm. Other hours are available upon request for school groups, bus tours, youth and senior groups.

The Johnny Appleseed Educational Center & Museum is located in building 25 on the Campus Map.
Free parking is available in either lot adjacent to Barclay & Bailey Halls on Urbana University’s campus.
