Group Tour Guidelines

The Johnny Appleseed Educational Center and Museum is on the first floor of a relatively small building of approximately 1500 square feet.

The building’s floor space and the number of museum staff members required to conduct tours create limits for sizes of groups. The larger the group the more advanced notice is required.

This helps ensure a good tour.

To book a tour for your group of 16 or more, complete the Larger
Group Reservation Form.

  • Groups less than 15, no advance notice is required.

  • Groups of 16 and less than 40, the museum requests at least two-weeks’ notice.

  • For groups of more than 40, the museum requests at least one month’s notice.

  • For groups of more than 60, the museum requests at least one month’s notice, and a $100 donation to The Johnny Appleseed Foundation. This donation helps cover part of the cost of additional museum staff required for a large group.

Your donation of $100 can be made by check, or by clicking on the Donate button and following the prompts.

Please make your check payable to The Johnny Appleseed Foundation.

Please mail your check to:

Please know, to experience an enjoyable tour, groups larger than 30 may be divided into two or more groups.

The museum director must be informed at least 48-hours before the scheduled tour about additional people being added to a tour.

  • Regretfully, the museum and staff may not be able to provide admittance or tours to any group not meeting the Group Tour Guidelines.

Meals at the Museum Guidelines

The museum can accommodate groups of up to 35 to have a meal, or reserve a space inside the museum.  Reservations, which include use of the museum space require at least one-months’ notice.

  • Regretfully, the museum and staff may not be able to provide meal accommodations to groups not meeting the Meals at the Museum Guidelines.

General Guidelines

  • Water bottles with water are allowed inside the museum.

  • Photography is allowed and encouraged inside the museum.

  • Bathrooms are available for public use. There are two single-stall restrooms available, and large groups may find a wait for a bathroom.
